2017 Blind Raccoon Showcase In Memphis, TN

Dates: Wednesday, February 1, Thursday, February 2, & Friday, February 3, 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days.

Venue: Purple Haze Nightclub, 140 Lt George W Lee Ave, Memphis, Tennessee 38103

Charge: $5 donation at door. Net proceeds benefit the Blues Foundation’s HART Fund.

Blind Raccoon is delighted to announce the line-up for their showcase taking place during the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. On February 1, 2 & 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., 15 acts from California, Virginia, Maryland, Minnesota, Louisiana, Idaho, Tennessee, and Illinois grace the stage of the Purple Haze Night Club, downtown Memphis. The showcase artists are quite the smorgasbord of blues talent playing the gamut of styles from blues/rock to acoustic blues, ranging in age from 17 to 70, both male & female and black & white. Two of the acts are participating in the 2017 IBC – Jon Spear Band and Mark Cameron. Five of the artists’ albums have been submitted by their society for 2017 Best Self-Produced CD – Jon Spear Band, Joyann Parker, Markey Blue, Mary Jo Curry, & Sammy Eubanks – the winner of which will be announced at the IBC finals.

Net proceeds from the showcases will benefit The Blues Foundation’s HART Fund, which provides assistance to blues musicians and their families in times of great financial need due to medical emergencies.

Emcees are Peter “Blewzzman” Lauro of Mary4Music.com on Wednesday, Jonathan “Oogie” Richards, host of Mighty Mouth Blues, NWCZ Radio, on Thursday, and Brett Fleming, host of Soul Stew, WEVL/Memphis, on Friday.
