|‘Just Stay Gone’ is a track from Gregg Martinez’s (pronounced MartNEZ – the i is basically silent) upcoming album, “MacDaddy Mojeaux,” scheduled for release on Nola Blues Records July 17, 2020. The song was written by his best friend since childhood, Tony Goulas, who is a Grammy award-winning cowriter of Chubby Carrier’s ‘Zydeco Junkie.’ The emotive lyrics combined with the depth of instrumentation and rich horns blend masterfully with the lush vocals of Martinez in this powerful piece. Blue-eyed Creole soul from the depths of the Louisiana bayou, at its finest!

Gregg Martinez, aka Mac Daddy, is one of Louisiana’s premier R&B/Soul Blues/Swamp Pop artist. Born and raised in Lafayette, Martinez is now based in New Orleans. He has released eleven albums including 2016’s “Soul Of The Bayou,” which reached #3 on the Roots Music Report R&B Album chart and was named one of OFFBEAT Magazine’s Top Ten Albums in Louisiana 2016.
In addition to his native Louisiana, Martinez has toured extensively across the U.S. and around the world. He is backed by his band the Delta Kings, a seven-piece unit with full horn section and some of the hottest musicians in the South. He has been repeatedly nominated for Best Male Vocalist in OFFBEAT Magazine’s Best of the BEAT Awards. The late Ed Bradley of TV’s 60 Minutes, upon seeing him perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 2005, called Gregg Martinez “one of America’s greatest hidden treasures.” In addition, Martinez had the honor of singing at Percy Sledge’s funeral in 2015. He was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2019.
